Maybe I've just missed it, but I don't recall seeing this advertised anywhere?

Doesn't look like you need to register. VA marketed or operated flights are eligible, so codeshare flights on United (for example) should qualify.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS​

*Promotion is valid between 12:01am AEST 01 August 2022 to 11:59pm AEDT 31 December 2022 (inclusive) (Promotion Period). To be eligible for the 20% Bonus Status Credits promotion you must book, ticket and complete travel on an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period and enter a valid Velocity membership number to that Eligible Flight prior to commencing travel. An Eligible Flight is any international Virgin Australia operated or marketed flight with a VA flight number for travel between 1 August 2022 and 31 December 2022 (inclusive) that normally earns Status Credits. For more information on status credits, click here. Eligible Flights that satisfy the criteria are eligible to earn a 20% bonus. Standalone Virgin Australia domestic flights and domestic connection flights flown as part of an international journey will not be eligible for this Promotion. The promotion is for all Eligible Flights flown during the Promotion Period, regardless of booking date. Bonus Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings or on Virgin Australia Charter flights. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated. To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Membership Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.
