Hi all

Long time reader, first time writer. Had a query in relation to the offer to save $200 on QC membership by use of the Corporate Rate (via AFF). However, I am presently resident in the UK for tax purposes and I note that the individual rate I have been quoted for QC membership is $710. Does this mean that, in fact, I only would be entitled to a saving of $90 (being the reduction of $710 [individual rate] to the $620 corporate rate) or do I still qualify for a full $200 saving - from $710 to $510?

Cheers

As you are resident in the UK, Qantas will charge you less than the $620 which is applicable for Australian residents under our scheme. I wouldn't know the exact figure (as Qantas do set the rates) but would imagine its at least 10% less as it won't include GST.

Many thanks for this.

I completely forgot about the GST component.

Despite being resident in the UK for tax reasons, as I travel frequently back and forth between Australia and the UK (having moved here to the UK from Brisbane) and as I often fly one world - am I still eligible to join your scheme (to take advantage of the corporate rate) or is this limited to Australian residents?

Cheers

Another question about the AFF QP membership, I am already a QP member (joined prior to finding out about AFF), can I simply transfer my membership over to the AFF scheme and only pay the QP renewal fee (plus AFF membership fee) or would I need to pay the full QP sign up fee again?

You can certainly transfer to our scheme and only pay the discounted Qantas Club annual fee without the need to pay Qantas another Application fee. Follow the instructions at http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/gold-membership-privileges/. It is best to do this a few weeks before your current membership expires.
