This is a a wild stab in the dark and before I get an answer prob be a big stretch , well here we goI am silver and need 200 sc for gold before 1st aug and I only have 55k points left (wife been using them in the dammed qantas store lol)Question is how do I do it cheaply and quickly, I'm due to go from Perth to Sydney in mid July Home base is perthWhat you all think

I think you should change your PIN first and consider buying at cheaper stores as the QFF store is useless for points.

You could consider doing a SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD run in Business Class (200SC) for around 48000 points + $211 all in the same day;

Book J SYD-AKL-SYD with LAN. Only around $700 and will net 160scs, should push you over with your PER-SYD-PER :)

Edit: The above option is better actually!

Major issue would still be the ash cloud buggering up flights and no doubt pushing prices up.

If you're serious though, using most of the rest of your points on a JASA might be the only way.

thank you for your ideas, can i do anything out of perth

Depends on your timing and points balance etc, mid July onwards its school holidays, earlier is better, this nets 200 SC for a net 27000 points + cash

TOTAL cost approx. $423.00 plus 32,000 points and petrol cost (about $25). Earn 190 stat credits and 6,000 points.

A very long day starting at Sydney at 2:00am and back at 17:45. Atleast you will be at CBR/MEL/SYD J lounges and HBA QP.
