Hello Folks,

Left it a bit late, but applied early in the week for a 28 degrees card and it arrived today. I don't remember reading this in the pre-application blurb, but now its here, apparently one gets charged 50c a month for a statement? Whilst this won't break the bank, and I'll save 200x more then this in fees and charges for cash whilst overseas, what a complete PITA. I don't want to be doing a tiny little bpay transaction once a month when I'm not even using the card.

The intention is to use this MC as a cash card for ATM's ... seems a bit safer and cheaper than the myriad cash-type-cards out there. So I'll probably only use it a few times a year.

So my question is, to anyone with the card, is this charge something you all see even if you keep a credit on the account and/or pay any balance monthly? And if there is no balance to pay, do you still get charged the 50c?

Most GE cards have a paper statement fee, and I believe for 28 degrees it's only if you elect to have paper statements. AFAIK, electronic statements have no charge.

I prefer to pay the 50c a month even though I do not read the paper statements.

I only get the free electronic statements - but interestingly 28 degrees only issues me with one of these electronic statements each month where I have a balance. This means most of the time when my balance is $0.00 I don't get issued with a statement. Not sure how it goes for paper statements though.

I find the electronic statements work well, either print, save or continue to view online for a long period of tíme.
Useful when travelling as you can view and pay statements easily whilst on the move.

It is now common for lower cost products to have fees for paper statements...

You'll find that a statement is only issued when there is something to actually put on the statement... So this might be a problem if you don't use the card much as surely there will be a never ending cycle of 50c statements cease each time you pay it a statement is generated which then costs you 50c next month lol

You might find however that statements are not produced for such small charges

You only pay the .50c if your profile has elected that you want paper statements.

Paper statement fee $0.50 Charged monthly if you choose to receive paper statements.

If you want to elect out of paper statements go to:

MANAGE MY DETAILS , and then select

STATEMENT DELIVERY , and then select

ONLINE STATEMENTS and press SUBMIT CHANGE

When using this in an atm o/s which button does one press to the cash out that I loaded on?

Received my card by post yesterday. Will take these steps.

Good point.

I use "credit card". For local withdrawals, use a Westpac terminal - fee free.

Useful info.
