I'm assuming you booked your QF J travel for the period back in October when they were discounting J class tickets for Dec-Feb?

Wish it applied to Flexi's.

Although I found a MEL-CNB (via SYD) fare for $39.50 cheaper than the economy fare on the same flight.

Yeah, a bunch of SYD-OOL flights were cheaper in J after discount than flexi - go figure.

Pretty tempted. If it included March (like the 48hr sale yesterday) I'd probably commit. Have a fair on in Dec/Jan/Feb (with probable more in Feb) so don't really want to book something I can't take...

They're always refundable, minus the booking fee of course. Book and cancel/change later if you can wear the $7.70....?

I have just put in for a refund and they advised up to 15 business days. It has usually taken 5 though. Not as quick as Qantas which has been no more than 48 hours.

I was thinking about upgrading my $195 Saver fare up to a $270 Biz fare to go home for Christmas but its conveniently outside the dinner window so dont want to pay $75 more for a wider seat and a cheese platter (considering you get half the benefits of Biz as a SG anyway). You lose VA.

I know you have to pay a change fee + fare difference when you change Saver flights but do you have to pay a change fee when you upgrade from Saver to Biz or just the fare difference? Surely they dont penalise people for deciding to upgrade?!

Quite cheap and not bad value providing you do a dinner flight. Did this 4 times in the past month, all at $200 Happy hour fares.

Online it would charge the fee but if you call up, they may waive it for you. That's been my experience, in both cases.
