Qantas Frequent Flyer is giving 30% off the points required for Classic Flight Rewards on 33 regional routes, for travel from 1 June until 30 November 2022. This discount is available when booking by 15 May 2022.

In addition, all Economy Class seats on these 33 routes are available to book as Classic Flight Rewards during August. The 30% discount also applies to these Points Planes.

Interesting, the first Melbourne Burnie flight I looked up had Any Seat available but no Classic Rewards (Y)

I guess these are the seats that Qantas expects will not be full…note to self it is not personal that the Sydney -Canberra and Sydney-Cooma flights are not included!

Fairly transparent as to what QF is trying to do here:
1. Allow them to claim there has never been more classic reward seats available.
2. Squeeze competitors by taking customers off them.
3. Prop up loads on flights that are probably dead empty now that international borders are open and that's where demand, especially for leisure travel, is.

Good news for anyone that can take advantage of it.

Sorry I should have added that was for August! Which is meant to be Points Plane!

Agree - I don't think your assumptions are too unreasonable. The sale seems to favour ports where there is a competitor. Most of the routes where Qantas is the only operator are excluded.

Coincidentally timed to try and take the limelight off Rex's frequent flyer program launch? ("but look how many reward seats we made available for regional areas!")
