Your first table provides false point amounts. You say 4,686, QF say 4885 and so on for the rest of the table.

One can earn 1,250 points min on JQ "Business class".

Better to kick it off on the right foot!

Best of luck.

Maybe I can express my thoughts concisely, perhaps I won't.

I enjoy your type. You have chosen a domain, you want to find people who visit it and click on your links. Congrats to you. Enjoy your revenue from affiliate links.

Without anything substantial, only casual visitors will click on affiliate links.

So that just cost me something? Damn, there goes the next trip.

You left out the Australian Taxation Office.
For Qantas points you use Amex Ultimate so the cost of the point is 0.83 cents.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Thank you Cove for your feedback, that is a great move and will add that in.

Looks like you just copied/plagiarized the QANTAS site:

Especially the flights section and the credit card section.

You are violating qantas.com.au's terms of use:

Except to the extent permitted by relevant copyright legislation, you must not use, copy, modify, transmit, store, publish or distribute the material on these web sites, or create any other material using material on these web sites, without obtaining the prior written consent of Qantas.
This does not bode well:

You’ve certainly struggled to hit 40 by padding it out and separating various things, like every store linked with the Everyday Rewards card. Lets see, #4, 5, 24, 25. If you’re going to separate each store, you could even go as far as separating D¡ck Smith and Tandy, and also the liquor outlets, especially as Cellarmasters is completely different to earning with the EDR card.

The blurb on restaurants is pretty small, you could include a link to the actual page that lists all the restaurants, otherwise people might think every restaurant is a partner.

I’ve never heard of “East Sydnet” either.

Hi Mal, could you elaborate a little as to what you don't find substantial about the guide?

Just want to address some of your concerns above. The intent of the guide was to provide comprehensive information about earning frequent flyer points, this information took over 2 weeks to compile and I feel it does encapsulate a fairly detailed list of ways which a person can earn frequent flyer points. I feel I have been upfront always with FF and the community about our website being a business where we try to earn money: e.g.
http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/com...sion/reward-point-value-comparison-16253.html.

Although I do not feel that trying to provide information to the community and condense large amounts into a simple 1 page should be stopped. We are a business trying to earn a living and affiliate links are part of our website, just as frequentflyer.com.au has a similar model of earning a living. I don't see anything wrong with earning a living?

I always appreciate your feedback, and the feedback of other FF users and will work hard to ensure our resources are well put together and beneficial for all.

In terms of feedback would love to know:

  • What would be the most ultimate guide for you on this topic?
  • What could we have done to improve it?
  • What other tips would you suggest?

We would love to take on your feedback and incorporate it in to our next revision!

To me it seems this thread may be OT very quickly, and the request is essentially one that should have this thread moved to the "Media Requests" section, and be responded to accordingly.....

Hi Mal, could you elaborate a little as to what you don't find substantial about the guide?

I don't see what information is published there that can't be accessed via the following page on the Qantas website:
Frequent Flyer - Earning Points

There are some other things which don't seem right, eg the section "Earning points on flights" is very unclear and could be misleading regarding points earned for non-Qantas flights, and status bonuses.

Frankly, looking at the page the OP has produced only really offers one advantage over QFF, in that all the stuff that QF puts into multiple tiered pages is now condensed into one single page.

Putting aside any readability issues, your page really doesn't have any value add to your readers that could otherwise just go to the QF website and read the same information with minimal effort. In academic parlance, if you were to submit that work as an assignment, you would be charged with at least "work without academic merit".

When I read your article title and sub-title:

Complete Guide: How to Earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points

Earning Qantas Frequent Flyer points is easy – you can rack up points quickly just by doing everyday shopping. Here are 40 ways to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points faster!

"Complete Guide"? No, it is not. You are not a one-stop shop of information - that is QF. You should make this note often in the article and assist people by directing them to this information. Besides, most of what you've written is direct from QF and isn't your work. Unless you're prepared to go into detail or at least be the real one-stop shop, you're making a spurious claim to fame.

In short, I'm extremely surprised that it took you two weeks to put together what is essentially some existing web pages stuck together and spat out again.

Not a bad list but one that will need to be updated regularly as bonus partners change.

Overseas hotels are not always 1,000 QFF points per stay as some are 600 QFF points per stay.

Also the Everyday rewards program could have been summarised under the one heading.

I have closed this thread as the link to the OPs website was removed (commercial and copyright issues). Without the link, there is nothing to discus :)
