As mentioned here:

For example, Merc C200 available in two weekends time, but only for a min. of 4 days. Interestingly, the cost for a week is only slightly higher than the cost for 4 days! With the current #1 Club Gold 50% off promotion, a week is about $250, inclusive of all taxes/charges! Of course, that's with a $5,500 excess and an additional SVA excess of $2,200 (My Westpac Plat card cover $5,500 excess and I'm willing to take the risk on the SVA, so no problem for me).

Offer available until 3 July 2011.

With this you can get

1 week in a:

Mini Cooper S - $190
Mercedes CLC200K - $205
Camry Hybrid - $215
Mercedes C200K - $220
Lexus Wagon - $235

30 days in a:

Mini Cooper S - $800
Camry Hybrid - $805
Mercedes CLC200K - $865
Mercedes C200K - $925
Lexus Wagon - $995

futaris, it looks like those prices are using a CDP with a further 10% discount. If this is correct, would you mind advising what CDP? I have access to a CDP which provides a 10% discount through my union (FSU), however it's always useful to have a back-up! AAA (RACV) CDP gives a 4% discount, with rates approx. $10 per week higher. Note I would never use a CDP I am not entitled to use.

Amway IBO Friends & Family CDP is 10%.
Union Shopper CDP is also 10%.

Both give the same discount...

Getaway CDP does not give any further discount (other than the 50%) - better off using the QFF CDP which gives an extra 5% off, or the RACV CDP, which gives an extra 4% off.

Futaris - does the reps ask for the card member if I use the Union Shopper CDP? Thanks.

I think you may be directing this at me, since I was the one that mentioned the 10% discount for being a union member (I was referring to Union Shopper)?

Anyway, I'll answer!

I have never been asked to show any evidence of any CDP at Hertz (or any AWD at Avis) that I've used, including RACV, QFF, my employer, or Union Shopper. That being said, I would never use a CDP I was not entitled to, as in the event of an accident, it's likely that Hertz will ask you to prove you were entitled to use the CDP and void your insurance cover if you cannot prove it, leaving you responsible for all damages! Not a risk I would be willing to take!

We managed to secure this promo for a 3 day rental. $138 for a Lexus IS250. :D (was $250)

I've just picked a C200 up from Hertz Sydney and the guy told me Hertz will pick up the tab on all the tolls I'll be knocking up - is this true? I can't find out till tomorrow at the earliest. Thanks :)

Yes, it's true. Be careful though, they've billed them to me once, in error. They refunded the amount ($35 of $75 2 rental!) a few days after I rang them.

EDIT: To further clarify, they charged me several weeks after I returned the car and sent me an invoice. They do not know you've used tolls when you return the car, unless you tell them, as the car does not have an e-tag.

Thanks for that AdMEL, I'll certainly be using more tollways than I normally do

It's back on again for #1 Club Gold members until October 31.

Min. 3 days.

It's a shame there's virtually no availability at Melbourne Downtown.

50% off extended to December 19. Min. 3 days. Additional 10% off using Virgin CDP! Just booked 5 days from BNE for $215! Seems to be some availability at MEL now, but still no availability at Melbourne City.

This pretty much spells the end of the Prestige collection trail again in Australia :evil::evil:

Over the next few months expect all these vehicles to be gone !

Such a shame they just can't get the prestige collection be be more popular in Australia

But at the same time they can have a $40,000 Falcon/Camry or a $70,000 Merc.. To get $$ back on their investment/rental/lease Hertz need to charge lots more and I can only assume people won't pay it

At least Europcar continue to have a nice fleet of Audi's which continue to be expanded. I see recently they have added the A1

I just looked at a rental and they came up with $6886.03 for a one day rental :!:

Where did you get the Virgin CDP?

When I look via Virgin there is no availability for the bookings I'm looking at.
