6 months double points at supermarkets and petrol stations

I was talking to CS about promotions and they offered to sign me upto 6 months double points at all major supermarkets and petrol stations. I didn't see it on this forum.

Is this the best offer at the moment to take?? Any other active promotions to consider?

Haven’t even heard of this, but don’t have my own AMEX so wouldn’t know. Sounds pretty good as long as you need food to live?

My Amex (Gold Credit card I assume) recently was offered 1.5 MR bonus points per $ spent at BP if the transaction is over $50. I don't think I've read about it here elsewhere. Strangely it was only recently sent to me (postmarked as received March 9), even though the promo started mid Oct 2009 and ends March 31.

Useless promo for me, but still there does seem to be many offers floating around.

There's a bunch of promotions expiring on 31/03. The BP one has been mentioned in passing a few times.

(Meanwhile, I still await Amex response on my card cancellation......)
