Just booking flights MEL-SYD on 19 DEC, noticed that only 13 of the 33 QF services operating that day are being operated by wide bodies (12 by 763's and 1 by a 332). Remainder are 737 services. Sign of things to come? Or xmas time lull? Hope that latter, as I much prefer a 767 to a 737. One less point of differentiation between QF and DJ!

I guess though with the A332's going to JQ they will be redeploying 767's on the PER runs.

Yeah, it looks like the 767s are alternating with the 747s on the PER runs, mixed in with the odd 737 :-|

If you have a look at the timetable that week MEL - PER:

Flight Info - Timetable - Weekly Result

They seem to be showing up 767s more frequently closer to Christmas.

I've got quite a few SYD-MEL's coming up and have also noticed that roughly half have moved to 738's from 763's!

I hear a lot are being used on Asia services from Bris-vegas etc instead of A330s as the 200s move to J*

When are the next batch of 738's due for delivery? (I think there are 5 left to arrive?)

Most likely due to the downturn in business traffic.

Also I thought it was the 743's that replaced the 332's on the Perth run.
