Looking at BNE-LAX with NZ via AKL, on 777-300. What would be the best seats in Y ?
Ive paid the $80 for the exit row, 34A AKL-LAX and 36A on the way back ( exit row not available )
Is it worth placing a bid for prem econ?
Im traveling by myself.
Thanks

You definitely won't lose anything by bidding for PE.
Given the exit rows are taken in Y, my favourites are down the back in the 2 seaters pink preferred seats. Rather just 1 person next to me than 2 for long haul. I can't actually recall the last time I sat in a row of 3 even TT on a 777. Had it on the 789 once as there aren't the number of 2 seaters but entire row free TT.
On the 777 if you look at the seat map you'll see there's a bit more space in the aisle at the pink preferred - and that does translate into reality. I don't really know the rest of Y that well to advise as I'm such a stickler for the back seats.

Hi,
Bumping this thread.
I have read elsewhere that there is a large gap between the seat and window on A and K down the back.
Any truth to this? I struggle to sleep in Y and if I do its resting on the window.
Rows 34 + 35 are all booked so I am looking for the best alternative.
Thanks.

I prefer NZ's wide bodies to EKs A380 for sleeping as the the A380 frame curves away and the arm rest doesn't go up whereas I've been able to lift up the arm rests and lean against the windows better on NZ. What are you comparing it to?
