First time in 787 business soon. I've got the choice of 1a or currently in 6f for NZ99 to Tokyo. Middle row is totally empty. But assuming its better hvae some glimpse of a window?

I went for 6f as liked the idea of not having someone looking over my shoulder but now wondering might it be a bad choice?

There is only A, J and K available, so not sure what you mean by 6F.

Personally I prefer seats in A as it is more private. I can't recall if 1A has a window, but would guess it does, so I'd go for that option.

Yep 6K I meant. Turned out to be a great seat except as you say row A would have been better as you won't be as likely to keep making awkward eye contact with travellers across from you. I had read the 787 J seat is narrow but I felt fine and am very tall and broad. Got a great sleep. I must say it did not feel as spaceful as either Qantas's new or older J seats and I found the sideways angle weird on takeoff and landing. Shame too you cant easily look out of the 787s wonderful large windows. But the superb service and food made up for it.
