A Crazy Fare in Business Class...ICN to West Coast USA

Very nice fare, for some dates its actually cheaper than economy

I'm struggling with this one... no mileage accrual on any program I use (or are ever likely to) BUT a fun trip no doubt... and I have some time off during the "life" of this fare that is currently "uncommitted"....

Hmmmm... I suspect not....:(

Wow, I just priced out a trip ICN-SFO March 13th 2011 to June 19th and it came out to US$708

I am just hesitant to pull the trigger because I am not familar with Hawaiian and by looking at their terms and conditions, there is no ability to cancel the fare at all, and no specifics on the cost to amend dates or passengers even though it is a Biz fare.

Very sexy fare but it would be great to know what amendments and cancellations would cost.

Also given the (relatively small) size of HA and the necessity for them to pay KE for these codeshare Transpacs.... I actually share the concern expressed by one or two people elsewhere... that this could be a messy one...

Having been a "victim" of AC's unilateral cancellation/refund of the South American Biz deal I might still book one of these (for next year)... but I'd be leaving the purchase of positioning flights/hotels etc until MUCH later!

Wow, pretty good one, but I suspect could be a bit risky.

Just for good measure, I priced BKK-LAS, which has 2 additional sectors in BKK-ICN r/t (otherwise, all remaining sectors are same) and price comes up to US$7,244.55 !

What is the risk you refer to?

Pity it costs so much to get to ICN!

That CX J class nett fare AFFers use for status runs doesn't do ICN does it? If not what's the closest to ICN you can get on that?

All you would need is a side trip from the closest CX port on that port to ICN & back.

SQ KF miles can get one to ICN. From SYD, no need for accommodation in both directions...neither SIN or ICN. Combination of economy and business class (SIN-SYD in business, all others in economy) for just over 91000 miles.

Foreigner... (Great username BTW!!)

The "risk" we are referring to is that of the deal not being honoured... Never used to happen (apparently) but has been the case (more than?/at least) once recently...

Bit of a problem if you have gone mad with paying for nonrefundable pre & post-positioning flights, hotels etc.

We'll see.....

Or if you have BMI miles, you can redeem 1 way J SYD-ICN on OZ for 18750 miles + cash.

Hehehe...I was a "foreigner" whilst lurking on this forum...no longer one now. :D I feel at home and keep us with tips and advices from all you more experienced members.

The general opinion from the Flyertalk is that the fares would be honoured. I will know for sure once a ticket number is issued.

I know what you mean about the other payments...getting to ICN from Australia is not cheap. I hope to use SQ to get to and back from ICN. Using KF miles.

Yup... just been reading the latest over there...

Looking good.... I might just have to go visit friends in LAS!

In my case though it will be SYD-ICN in Y.... SQ has decent fares IMO, and a half decent product.. and at least I can accrue useful points on those...

Its not looking so good now, the usual "I sue" and "I want 20 tickets around the world in F as compensation" posts are starting to appear now the deal has been pulled (OK I was exaggerating with that last quote but you get the idea ;) ) . Makes for interesting reading, still amazes me how many people forget how public their ideas are!

Yep, though HA is making three offers instead in lieu of the bookings under incorrect fare.
