Hi guys
well I am ecstatic to be going on my honeymoon in early February and am booked in first suites (yay!! So excited!) on the a380 on the first leg (Syd-Auh). At the moment we are booked business back on the a380. Now, for now it is a moot point as there is no Auh-bne first class seats available as guest reward and this may not change(I actually live in bne so slightly more convenient but I really don't mind if return is to bne or Syd tbh)... But if it were to change has anyone flown both and reckon the 787 first suites are worth the extra 60k velocity points each over a380 biz ? ( I got the business seats when velocity had their 15% off sale). Thanks in advance!.

Hi Jobeki111
In terms of the hard product, the first suites on Etihad's 787 are not quite as fabulous as the first apartments on their A380 but they are much better than the business product on either aircraft.
They are closed suites, with the filigree doors you will be able to close against the world. Well, against the others in First anyway.
The 787s feature an updated design of the suites on the EY A330 and B777s, which is much fresher and cleaner.
They make large and comfortable beds and are much roomier than the beds in business.
As you are flying as a couple you could reserve two of the centre suites and enjoy them together with the privacy divider down.
In terms of the soft product, the service in EY First is much more personal and attentive.
For a long flight, and if the timing is right for an overnight sleep, I think it would be worth it.
Have a wonderful honeymoon.

Just for your info I have posted a mini trip report based on my experience in a First Apartment SYD-AUH in the trip report forum.
