I've read in several places that the economy seats on the QF A380 are vastly superior to seats on other QF's other international planes. 767's aside, I'm trying to work out what the fuss is all about.

Without doubt the IFE options are a vast improvement, and the seats looks great, but when it comes down to comfort I am struggling to see what the fuss is all about. In fact, in my 15 mins in a regular seat, I actually found them quite uncomfortable, solely due how low the seat goes, and found that actually impeded my leg room, as I like stretching my legs out under the seat in front. I'm not that tall - 6'0", but did find it a bit annoying in those 15 mins! Maybe it would have been better had I stuck it out longer.

Didn't matter, as I soon moved to one of the three empty centre bulkhead seats in Row 66 which were great (curiously neither the F lounge or gate could allocate these seats to me ... reserved for travellers with infants apparently, even though I did not see any bassinet anchor points, nor are any marked on QF seat maps ... )

The centre row 66 seats are designated as exit seats. There are no bassinet positions there.

I would agree with you re the slide forward seat; it would be a pain for any over 180cm I suspect. I have only ever sat in 66C, 80A or 80K in economy on these aircraft so can't really indicate more.
