I'm flying QF128 soon in F with my mother flying in Y. As the suite allows for two people to dine together, I was wondering if I would be able to have her join me for the meal service?

... you know that will you used to feature in :shock::shock:

Pretty sure the dine together feature is meant for two pax travelling in that cabin!

After all....what meal would you expect her to be served?

P.S. +1 with the comment about your chances of an inheritance...

Sorry but I would let my Mother travel in F and I would take the Y seat. I would also put a Y-J upgrade request in.

And, you would have to very discreetly ask the CSM but I think the answer would be a polite no. Perhaps if J was empty the CSM could move a J passenger to F and then put both of you in J although this would need a very proactive CSM and it would help if you or your Mum were platinums.

My mother has a different mindset to me. I am 6"4' so I avoid Y like the plague. Whereas my mother ALWAYS goes for the cheapest fare (not that she can't afford F). So she's very petite at 5"4' or similar and doesn't care about Y. In fact she is only flying QF because I'm on the flight, otherwise, she would've flown MU at a cheaper rate.

Last November I did the right thing *hint hint* and placed my girlfriend in F whilst I had to make-do with being stuck in Y. She was in 5A (last row of F) whilst I was in 50A (first row of Y) so we were really only separated by a few meters. We asked for permission from the CSM if I could spend some time in her suite and this was approved. So after takeoff and when the seatbelt signed were turned off, I was snuck into the F cabin by the CSM. The CSM also advised that the F crew were aware that I had been allowed in so I wouldn't feel like I had illegally presented myself into F. I shared a few glasses of champagne, ate some hors devours, and to top off the wonderful service on board, was given a set of F Mens ammenity pack! Sadly, I was asked to return to my 50A seat when the meal service commenced because the other F passengers may actually get upset or perceive that I was getting a benefit whilst not being entitled to it, and may end up complaining and what not. I had no issue with that explaination and was willing to return to my booked seat at any time they asked me to. The CSM also told me that if I wanted some more champagne or whatever drinks they had in F, they would send some down. That crew definitely went above and beyond what I was expecting. When I returned to my seat, the seat buddies in 50B and 50C had already finished their Y meals and were waiting for the crew to come and take their trays away. My girlfriend who is a WP did mention that I was also a WP so maybe that played an important role in 1. allowing a visit to her suite and 2. enjoying some F benefits and 3. being offered champagne and other alcohol, to be served in Y. Also the proximity of my seat and hers was a big factor too, and her seat of 5A was probably the most secluded F seat so thus would have minimised the chance of other F passengers knowing I was there.

Flew A380 SYD-LAX June 2011 had a friend in Y, asked if we could catch up (eat together hopefully), FA said no but after diner we could go up to the lounge section in front of J and chat there.

Where champers from F and extra snack from J were provided.

I'

I've jsut done a quick sum and it seems as if for the same price as F and Y you both could have travelled in J and enjoyed the whole flight sitting together.

Was F on special at the time??

I was on a flight late last year - 2/14 in F. Wife was in F, hubby in J. Hubby came to visit before takeoff and asked if he could come back later and stay and was politely refused. He was offered 'a brief visit'.
