I booked some flights SYD-SIN-DAD // BKK-SIN-SYD in a mixed fare for me and the mrs.

SYD-SIN was to be an A380 in suites but it's been downgraded to a B777 in first.

I'm not too unhappy with the change from suites to seats given it's a daytime flight and it's probably easier for eating side by side BUT when I was researching the flights the first flight fares were significantly lower than suites fares. If I price the itinerary today (for slightly different dates because the dates I booked aren't showing for me online) the fare difference is cheaper by about $1000 AUD.

So I resent paying the suites price for the first product. My fare is fully changeable and could be cancelled for a small penalty. (But not online.)

Is this something the service desk can do? ie reprice my current itinerary to reflect the current aircraft/seat types and issue a partial refund?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Have a go on the phone, but while others might confirm whether it’s ’dynamic’ I do find SQ fares move around a lot. In fact sometimes I think me and like-minded people running various schedules (but always booking) are responsible for some of this day-to-day price variation

As for R over F, well if you havnt done suites then you shud, at least to know what it’s like. Suites layout is ridiculously generous but it’s not difficult to find opinions that range from lousy ergonomics to hard bedding and lots in between. I prefer F for a number of reasons incl staff/pax ratio, 2 (small) loos for 4 pax, a more comfortable bed, windows you can see out of, tho the 777 is noisier. Service is immaculate in both cabins..

Thanks. I agree with your comparison between F and A. I've flown both and they actually suit my plans but if I waited a few weeks and booked them it would have been over $1000 cheaper. I'll give SQ a try and see what happens. My second option is still available (SYD-SIN on a later flight) and that is the basis of my new costs.
