Saw this earlier. If it was QR codes, it should earn 520 QF SCs return (plus anything to/from CGK). I believe AA codes will earn the same since operating carrier is still OW?

Last time I looked, there was reasonable premium award availability SYD-CGK return.

Not a bad fare but the arrival time into JFK isn’t great for onward connections :( At least in the example given. I wonder if there are other options if lengthening the stop in Qatar (although for I understand entry ti Qatar is restricted for the next month or so during the world cup?)

Yeah, I wouldn’t be trying this in the next few weeks.

I didn’t look too closely at the timings - but anyone interested in getting to NYC for that fare (plus repositioning) would find it compelling anyway.

If crediting to QF, the AA codes will earn the same SCs but more points.

Yeah, I thought something like that.

Edit: and obviously no use for VA FF….

Looks like PHL is in play also (another AA hub). Plus you can book CGK-DOH on QR or AA codes (but only AA codes transatlantic).

Some timings that seem to button into QF41/42 schedule. Also some earlier arrival times in both JFK and PHL if you were up for another sector!

Hi. Am keen to get on this deal to celebrate a wedding anniversary trip.

Curious how do you know AA and QR earn same SCs when crediting to QF. Is there somewhere I can check this?

Tried the Qantas calculator for CGK-DOH and it doesn't calculate AA as an option just QR. Just want to check I will earn 520 SC before I book it.

thanks in advance.

Yes, use the QF partner earn tables here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...ng-tables/partner-airline-earning-tables.html. For DOH-CGK look at the "Between Dubai and Doha and ..." section. Find row for Southeast Asia or Northern Africa, in Business column earn is 100SC and 4250 points. Shouldn't be a SC difference between OW airlines and QR/AA should be the same (points may differ - I think QF and AA have an arrangement).

For QF operated flights use the calculator or https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...tables/qantas-and-jetstar-earning-tables.html. Note on some routes where QF have a OW competitor, they cut down SC earn for QFF members significantly to drive booking to QF. For SE and North Asia, you will get 120+ SCs for QF operated flights in Business, but only earn 60SCs for OW partner trips on the same routes.

Thanks for clarifying Sqrt(). Didn’t know that really helpful!

Reported again, so must still be around….

I was searching some random dates next year and IAD (Washington Dulles) was coming up also. Slightly more as a return but also open jaw options with JFK. BOS also showing in the low mid A$4K.

There could be others being added where QR flies in/out of the US and AA codeshares.
