Hello,

I looked for an active similar thread but couldn't find one.

Next month I'm flying ADL -> MEL -> DFW -> BOS -> DFW -> SYD -> ADL for work all on flex J.

My status resets on Wed (Silver requalified), the trip will get me back to Gold but my question is: will flying in J alone get me into the AA flagship lounge for flights between DFW and BOS? Given that I'm flying/flown international J on the same day and the same booking but not specifically the next flight?

Cheers

Yes it looks like you are in luck.

The rule is same day international connection, not next flight.

Should be able to access the Flagship lounge, but not the dining area.
Dining is reserved for F customers, or Flagship Business+ fares.

Yeah I was aware of that one, but looking at flagship videos on YouTube they still look much better than the admirals club

Complete understatement.

The Flagship Lounge (excluding FF dining) is better than a QFi J lounge. Somewhere in between the J and F lounges.

Some here prefer the LAX Flagship lounge to the QF Flounge.

Admirals Clubs are way down the bottom of the list!

I found the flagship lounge at JFK and ORD superior to the one at DFW. ORD had jumbo prawns on the buffet and were cooking sliders to order which was a nice touch.

All Flagships were self serve bars (both wine and spirits) often at the Admirals club there is a bar tender who expects a tip to serve you a free drink.

Where flagship fails is no barista made coffee only coffee machines.

I think it depends on time of day and season, but overall I don't see a huge difference between the cities - not like the differences in QF lounges between SYD/MEL/BNE.

I've been in DFW around thanksgiving and they were carving roast turkey with potatoes and gravy.

I'd have to say though, I'd vote MIA as the pick of the bunch.

Cheers for that, unfortunately I’ve only got DFW and there’s only an AC in BOS. But I’ll take what I can get 👍🏻

Now I’m really excited as the QF J lounges (except PER/BNE) have been so so lately….

who would then want a tip as well...

Sure but cheaper than having to go outside the lounge to get a drinkable coffee.

Either way something to be aware of so you can grab a proper coffee before entering the flagship lounge.
