Hi All,

Quick question regarding earning on AA flights... last year I visited the USA and made use of some DONE4 flights, as well as booking some other individual flights on AA in economy through the AA Australia website.

All my DONE4 flights credited fine, all my other flights credited fine, however 1 flight didn’t credit. When I applied to Qantas for missing points they came back to say that it didn’t qualify for earning points.

I was pretty sure this was booked exactly the same as my other individual flights (not the same as the DONE4 obviously)

The flight that didn’t credit was from LAS - DFW

I can’t seem to find the info I need as to why it wasn’t eligible for frequent flyer points or status credits? I thought all flights had a minimum earn on AA of 500 points and the applicable status credits?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Maybe I'm just looking with my eyes closed here...

Thanks

What fare class did it book into? If it was in Y, it's not assured as some fare classes are non-earning.

AA fares that earn QF FF points are:

GLMNSV = 0.5 points/mile
BHKY = 1.0 points/mile
DIJ = 1.25 points/mile
AFP = 1.5 points/mile

So if not booked in one of those fare codes, no earning for QF FF point.

Do you have the original E-ticket notification email and a copy of your Boarding Pass?

Find the single character "Booking Code" against that segment that indicates its booking class and post it here if you can.

If I am looking at a flight; what part of the fare code is the important. MA14HN

Well there you go, silly me. I just checked the email confirmation I got at the time and it booked into Q, whilst all the others were booked into S

Thanks for your prompt reply guys.

Not the news I was after, Im 5 status credits short of Platinum and I was hoping that might have been an error on their end.

Cheers!

Looks like an SC run in the offing :lol: - you defintely don't want to miss out on Plat status

Yeah, lucky for me I guess its only 5 SC that I need to get, so a quick trip to sydney and back should cover it for under $200. Then I should be right to travel when this financial year is over with enjoying the benefits of platinum.

Problem is, travel seems to get in the way of work! I'll have to work on fixing that somehow
