hey guys,

Was playing with the redemption engine going from LAX to SZG. There is a change at LHR to LGW on BA. I was wondering....... how do i get there? and will it be organised for me as it is all the same redemption ticket? And i assume 3.5 hours is sufficient?

Thanks for your help

By all means check with BA but I think you'll be on your own. Have a look at:
LHR-LGW Connection

The MCT is recommended as 3 hours so you should be OK. We were on a particularly slow connection a few years ago and the staff member onboard said the record (longest) time for the trip was four and a quarter hours. We had allowed 4 hours from terminal to terminal and just made a flight to Toulouse. A lot of other passengers missed their flights. There are ATM-like ticket machines (a bit like a very hard 20 questions) which include a requirement to know if you depart Gatwick North or South (that defeats most people) and will not let you buy a ticket if you don't look at the terms and conditions (you cant simply say it you must press the button to access them). I recommend buying a ticket on the bus!

One of the other questions is "What departure time would you like?". Of course at that time you don't know where the bus stop is or how many qustions you still have to answer. It must be no fun at all if you don't have English as your first language.

Note that you will also be required to collect any checked luggage and transport it on the coach to LGW and check it in again there. Many years ago they used to transport through-checked bags in a "bonded" van between the two airport, but not any more.

starting to sound harder and harder.... maybe i need a plan B... will investigate some more....

Thanks guys!
