Hi FFF (fellow frequent flyers) ;)

AA confirmed a full refund of my ticket on 19/6/08 , and on 16/7/08 confirm that the refund was processed.

It is now 13/8/08 and I'm still waiting for my lovely refund from AA (approx. $6k) which has still has not (thanks Serfty) turned up :(

I know refunds can take anywhere up to eight weeks (as as AA would say up to two card billing statements) but how FAST have your refunds appeared?

I guess for me, my refund is likely to appear in the next 2-4 weeks, but fingers crossed which means it has taken a whole three months from approval of the refund to then receiving of the $$$

Anyway, thanks for reading, I just wanted to air/vent a little ;)

PS. I called AAustralia at 230pm today and did not have to wait, so good on AA this time.

I've cancelled 2 tix with AA that I remember. One was a tix paid in $A, the other was a tix paid in Pounds.

Both turned up relatively quickly (ie a week or two).

Not going to make you feel better but I cancelled a LONE4 booked via AA a couple of years ago and I think it was refunded pretty quickly - a week or two at most!

Good Evening!

Just to update I received my refund credited back into my CC today.

It's taken a close to 10 weeks from payment to refund so it was one long wait.

But to make up it all up, I made a net $280 gain for nothing because of the weakening AUD.

Hi FFliers.

I've got a question about AA refunds in Australia. I booked a domestic United States flight via AA's Australia call centre. The American AA call centre have advised me they can't process a refund because it was paid using an Australian credit card. They could not confirm or deny if the Australian AA could give me a refund. They offered to give me a voucher but that's not much use to me here in Australia!

So, in short, will AA Australia provide a cash refund (i.e. send the money back to the credit card) or will they also be wanting to issue me a voucher?

I'd call AA myself but they are closed till 9 am tomorrow!

Thanks in advance.

The key thing is whether the fare is refundable. If it is, then the AU office should be able to process it ok; failing that try the UK office

If the fare is not refundable then the value of the fare minus the $100 fee can be saved as a voucher for future travel

American Airlines have changed my flight ergo I am eligible for a refund. The AAmerica confirmed this and was willing to issue me one - just in the form of a voucher because "their systems couldn't process a refund to an international credit card"

Would I be better off getting AAmeriaca to cancel the ticket then get AAustralia to issue the refund? Or just get AAustralia to do it all tomorrow morning? Can refunds.aa.com issue me with a refund to an Aussie card?

But, you can confirm that AAustralia can refund to an Australian credit card, unlike their American counterparts?
