You need to click on the "+ Flight Details" to get it to show the Booking Code.
Then, refer to Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions (the American Airlines section) where it says...

If the Booking Code is NOT in that table, you earn no status credits.
AA's "Economy Super Saver" appears to be booking class M which would earn points at half rate, and earn Discount Economy Qantas Status Credits.

Hi.

You need to check the fare class closely. I've a similar trip in June-July and it is Q class Melbourne to New York (so no FF miles or SC with Qantas) but then the other legs (New York to London and then back to Aus) are N class which will earn some.

I'm interested in where/when you can get this fare. Even without SCs and points, its a reasonable deal.

It readily shows up - books into M Class on AA flights numbers so earn on QFF at 50% miles and discount economy SC's.

MKOWAU

You can also travel via ORD or DFW from LAX for an extra few $$$.

SYD-LAX-LHR earns 80 SC's.

SYD-LAX-DFW/ORD-LHR earns 95 SC's.

What dates for that price. Am getting near us2500 ai with the return double the outgoing (presumably the uk tax)

Would you be able to complete the AA Platinum Challenge on this route, as it's a AA flight number?

SYD-LAX (7488miles)
LAX-LHR (5456miles)
Easy way to get OW Sapphire if it's able to be done..
Challenges work on EQP.

M class earns EQP at 100% EQM so it would be valid for a platinum challenge.

Qualification Requirements

Do it in May and have Oneworld Sapphire until early next year.

OP said May ('12 I presume) but I get US2500 on both AA US and AA AU trying both 3 day and 10 day stays

It's a one-way fare, if you look at recent post from the OP they are trying to get to Europe from Oz vi8a the USA.

To bring it up:

www.aa.com - home page

SYD to LHR

One-way

May 8

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

the fare in H SYD-LAX-DFW/ORD-LHR is $US 1797
does this give 190 SCs?

Looked at a few dates and it appears that you can also have a decent stop over in LA if desired

and only about $50 more if you start from PER not SYD, interesting

always wondered about the following

SYD-LAX one way with AA on May 8 is over 2000 dollars
and
SYD-LAX-LHR is only 1500 dollars !!!!

I don't bother wondering any more. It's markets.

e.g. On AA LAX-xNYC-SJU in first/business is USD503; LAX-NYC in First is USD1240.
