Going to make Circle Pacific options more interesting due to the dismal award seats availability direct from OZ to USA and HKG is such a fantastic city too.

AA still charges 2 separate awards for aus-asia-north america, so it will be more expensive then going direct

That it is but we always have so much fun in HKG with our OZ ex pat friends their etc.

i guess the one sweet side of it is that since AA got rid of stopovers, now that this would be 2 awards anyway, you effectively get a free stopover!
