Hi,

I just put in an upgrade award for an upcoming trip YYZ-ORD-LAX-SYD, all segments ticketed/operated by AA. I read in the upgrade rules that an upgrade from North America (inc Canada) to Australia includes up to 3 segments, but the agent I just spoke with wouldn't allow the ORD-LAX segment as part of the upgrade, saying it applies to international sectors only (ie. just AA73). I do have masses of 500 mile upgrade I can use for the ORD-LAX anyway, but anyone else had experience with this and whether I should HUACA?

Cheers.

Yep that's what it was. They now set it up to only apply the domestic leg upgrade if the international clears.
