Hi all

I usually try and book AAA rates at hotels in the US, when it's a good deal. The NRMA card had a AAA logo on the back, as well as the 3 digit code.

I got issued a new NRMA card out of the blue a while back, and it is a whole different style. It doesnt have the AAA logo or number on the back. It only has the other logos - FIA and AIT (whatever they are?!).

Does anyone else have this issue? As far as i know, NRMA are still part of the AAA program, but if i show this card at hotels it won't exactly prove anything since there's no logo.

I do still have the old card, and it doesn't have an expiry on it, so I'm taking that on holidays with me, but this shouldn't be the solution. Anyone have any further knowledge on what's happened with the AAA and NRMA membership cards?

Thanks all!

KarenD...ditto with me. I keep / carry the old NRMA card with AAA logo in my travel wallet :)

Ditto for me with RACWA card, but I've never been asked to show it.

I suspect in the US they're a bit more savvy about asking to see it though.

Just keep your old card with you, as said they dont have a expiry date on them. I still carry my RACQ card with me even though I stopped being a member 6 years ago. As drron said above, the senior rate is just as good if you are eligible.

I joined AAA for the just in case 100 mile towing service as I go out into rural areas. I have RACWA as well.
