Folks

I've about 30,000 AA miles that will expire in Sep 2011.

I'll planing to do a DONE4 starting Nov 2011 and would use the miles for an upgrade LAX-LHR.

Does anyone know if I have to use these miles by ordering an upgrade before Sep 11, or do I actually have to do the flying before Sep 11?

Thanks in advance

Paddy

Not sure on the answer to your question, but surely you can get a qualifying activity happening in the next 14 months to extend the life of the miles for another 18 months. Rental car, hotel stay, AA promo, AA toolbar, Transfer from another scheme etc.

If you can confirm the upgrade before the expiration date, then no issue at all

If you have trouble getting upgrade confirmed before that date, might want to get some activity posted; worst case, buy 1000 miles

You can requalify for another 18 months by joining points.com via the AA website and earn 100 points. ;)

Then you can take your time to decide how to spend them.
