My wife's account got an offer of a free 50 SCs:

With extra Status credits you will be closer to enjoying the benefits and privileges of Silver Frequent Flyer membership.

To help you qualify for Silver, you can earn 50 extra Status credits on your next Qantas, QantasLink or codeshare flight with a QF flight number when you make a new booking and travel between 20 Jun 08 and 18 Sep 08*.

Anyone seen these offers before? Must be random for fairly new members. She's been a member since Dec 06 and still needs 290 SC for Silver.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've never seen or heard of anything like it, but hey, can't complain.

Yep, Something similar.
To help you re-qualify for Gold, you can:
earn 25 extra Status credits on the next eligible Qantas, oneworld alliance airline, Air Pacific, Jetstar or QantasLink flight you take before 8 Apr 2008*
Still failed to keep gold and now silver :( Was Plat for 3 years before being downgraded to gold

Yes, have heard of it before to help requilify at some level, but not seen it before to qualify the first time (but have seen double SC offers for that!)

Couple of years ago, I was offered joining to the QP for no joining fee. These offers seem random but I'm sure there are some segmentation experts behind the scenes.

I NEED THIS.

Heading towards silver for the first time ever, but 50pts would be useful to make sure i get there!

That'd be an awesome email to receive!

Yes, I received a similar offer late last year. I've been PS for over ten years and was about 140 SC short of requalifying this year when I received an offer of 25 SC on my next eligible flight. This, coupled with a US trip meant I requalified, so it was quite helpful to receive.

In 10 years with QFF, have not once seen such an offer or email. I wonder if there was a way for me to be added to the 'help with SC' list....:(

It would be another incentive for me to stay with QFF..

Cheers

I got a similar offer to retain Gold. Interesting as my renewal date is 30 Sep and I am 160 SCs short at the moment - plan to get SG during a DONE4 soon...

Last year I received an email offering double status credits for a 2 month period. I was booked on a J trip mel-syd-drw-adl-mel which netted me 320 SC on a work trip.

I wish i could get another one of those this month!

I've been in the program for about 10 years (like the previous poster) and never received such an offer.

This year would be one of my higher earning years (I think somewhere just over 2000 SCs), so bonuses would be great (to get closer to LTG)!

How do I get on the list?

If they already have such business from you, they're hardly likely to offer you a carrot, are they?

I obviously should have put <humour> </humour> tags into my post :)

I only started flying a lot about 4 years ago. Never received such an offer prior to that. Even now that I'm earning more SCs, I can always *wish* for a carrot (even thought it's probably wishful thinking) :)

I received a similar offer 4 years ago. It was double SCs from November 15-February 15. I had 3 trips to SE Asia at the time and earned enough SCs to get QF Silver. Have not looked back since....
