I'm a member of accor advantage plus & so far, I'm fairly happy with member rates and hotels -especially in Asia.

However, the A|Club is a different kettle of fish.
I've stayed over 20 nights this year and have only been credited for one stay of 3 nights - even then, it was actually 4 nights - plus, it was booked on a "double points bonus" which also hasn't credited (although i realise that may come later).

Every time i check in, I make sure they also have my a|club # & on check out I ask if my stay's been credited to my account. So - what else can i do?

I've sent off my hotel invoices via their website "missing stays" section (a few weeks ago)... no response and no stays credited.

The funniest thing is that I signed my mother up during their recent promotion - so for sitting at home, she now has more points than i do!

Anyone have any experience/suggestions of how to get stays successfully credited to your account?

cheers

My one and only stay didn't credit correctly. I faxed through my invoice to them about a month later (I think the story is in a thread here somewhere) and got knocked back because I hadn't waited long enough. I think it took a few days - a week for the email to come through.

Still no posting after their required wait period, so faxed it through again - and the points posted in a few days (from memory).

So yes, they will post points, but it's a painful process if they don't post correctly at the hotel.

1/6 stays have credited automatically.

I now wait the six weeks and use the form with a scan of the statement uploaded and attached.

These stays credit shortly after.

Yes Its very frustrating.I have stayed about 25 nights and have been credited points for about 6 of them. A-CLub will not even look at helping you until 6 weeks after your stay. I have sent of invoices 3 times now and have been credited some points but not all. It is hard work keeping track of it all. On a positive note I stayed at Mecure Sydney last week and the points credited the next day!! yet others I stayed at in July have still not credited.I really wish they would sort it out.

Around August they were have supposed to have fixed their system. For me, it just stopped things posting.

I quoted my A|Club number at the Bruges Novotel recently (early October '09). The relevant points were credited to my account within 4-5 days of checkout. From the posts above the system is clearly patchy, but equally clearly it is capable of working smoothly when the mood takes it.

Hi all,

Different situation but this monthI have been credited for 2 nights I didn't stay in the hotel.

Someone elses stays have been credited to my account.

oh well.....

I stayed at the Mercure in Sydney recently. She signed me up for an account on the spot (without telling me) and when I checked my email and found I had a "Welcome to A-Club" type email. Even though the account was specifically created for that stay at the time, the points for the stay haven't credited to it.

Seems like the system is pretty dodgy.

Mrsdrron signed up recently as we do stay occasionally at Accor and do plan a couple of longer stays in 2010.A stay she had at Novotel HKG posted within 24 hours. The first stay at Ibis SYD though has just posted nearly 3 months later after numerous emails and a fax of details.Yet this was a prepaid stay booked on the Ibis's own site.
Obviously still a work in progress.

None of my stays have been credited. To be honest I have given up even trying to get the issue resolved with them. It's just not worth the frustration.

I only have a problem with the Australian Accor properties. Every time I have stayed overseas, it has posted generally within a week with no chasing required.
So far this year, I have stayed 7 times in Australian Accors and not one has posted. Even when I've entered a retrospective claim for 2 of the stays it still hasn't posted. Starting to get frustrated with them :(

I put in a claim for a missing stay. Two weeks after I put the claim in they sent me an email saying I had to wait six weeks, then a few days after that I got another email saying they had creditted it.

This was at a hotel (in Perth) that previously had automatically posted. So the system can work, but if it doesn't the claim process seems a bit clunky.

Mrsdrron joined up.Her first stay at Ibis at SYD airport booked and prepaid through the hotel site took 3 months to post with ~6 emails,a fax and a phone call.Novotel at HKG posted within 24 hours.

Good lord! Seems I'm not the only one then.

After emailing a few times, I now have a couple of my stays posted to my account - but nowhere near all of them.
I can't even say, at least the international stays post soon after. I've stayed at KL Novotel twice on this trip, the first one posted (but for incorrect number of days) but the second one a few weeks later, has not.

Also, i got an no-reply email today that says:

We have well received your E-MAIL dated September, 30th 2009 and we thank you for the time taken writing to us

We remind you that to earn points on your A|Club card account when you stay at a participating Accor hotel, it is necessary for your invoice to include at least one night's stay.
Consequently, we regret that we are unable to reply favorably to your claim.

Yes.. a response almost 2 months later. What's interesting is, I have no idea what the hell they are talking about. How could i put in a retro claim for less than one night's stay?

Seeing as the email quotes a reference number than means nothing to me & I submitted claims for many stays, the only thing I can think of is some separate meal invoices (while staying at the hotels, of course). As far as I'm aware, that's entirely part of the points system.

The "no-reply" email is really average. Is it too hard for a person to reply, with some actual information?

A|Club is really a bad joke. I can only imagine how much messier and convoluted it will become when older claims still aren't processed and yet I'm claiming my new stays should be accredited on a higher status tier.

Urggh. I'm still overseas, so I may attempt a phone call when I'm back in Aus... "what's a girl gotta do to get some POINTS around here?!!!"

Well, six weeks after my last stay in early September I did the claim thing and nothing happened (no reply, just nothing).

Two week later I resent the claim and nothinh happened for three weeks when I recieved an email for each of these claims stating they will credit. Well, the one stay has finally posted - 11 weeks after the actual date.

I took up the A|Club offer that came with the Westpac KF card. Haven't actually made any points earning stays with them.

From this thread though I hope that someone from the Accor organisation is looking at the problem - would have to think that a lot of wasted effort has gone into developing the program if the IT system hasn't been funded to support the promotional hype.

'None of my stays have been credited. To be honest I have given up even trying to get the issue resolved with them. It's just not worth the frustration.'

I have also taken this approch after six stays and a endless emails scans of invoices, online booking pages i just don't seem to get any satisfaction
maybe i need to bring this up with the hotel on mt next visit, KL in march

I did a review of one of the Australian Accors I stay in on Tripadvisor, including my criticism of the a|club scheme. There was a management response to my review, which said that they had taken my point on board. And lo and behold - the next stay there (about 2 weeks ago) posted with no issue whatsoever!

Only 7 stays this year to chase now :(

I've given up taking it up with the hotels too. I make sure they have my A|Club # on check in.... and again upon check out. When I mentioned to KL Novotel (on 2nd check in) that my stay from the previous month hadn't been credited - they just blamed it on A|Club.

But really, it should just be a matter of keying in your # & total spend...right?
