Accor plus night extension

Hello!

Has anyone with an Accor Plus night through Amex Platinum Charge tried and been successful in extending their free night? Chat has advised that they don't offer extension if the membership is through Amex. I have had it extended in the past.. although it was during covid.

Alternatively, am I able to book for a night in the future? After the expiry of the night? It allows me to book on the app but I wonder if the night will be cancelled afterwards.

I haven't had a need to extend my Accor+ free Stay benefit. With that being said, it might make sense to get them on the phone and see what they have to say versus chat (which might be manned by someone who doesn't have the authority to make sense extensions). If the answer is no for extensions then I would try booking a hotel somewhere just to make use of the benefit (and earn the extra elite night).

Section 5.3(a) of the Accor+ terms says that's not possible:

(a) The Stay Plus benefit:

1. (i) is valid for the duration of an Accor Plus membership until the last day of the month, shown as the expiry date on the membership card; and
2. (ii) must be booked, and redeemed (specifically, the check-out date must be prior to or on the last day of the Accor Plus membership), within a member's subscription membership year.
