Hi guys - first post here...have always had a look at the great info but never joined...

I qualified for Plat One status (including the minimum 2700 on QF) about a week ago but my status when I log in still shows Platinum...does it change automatically or do I need to call someone about it?

Thanks in advance for the advice...

Welcome to AFF and congratulations on Plat One! Cant answer your question but damnit I would expect QF to contact you not the other way round!

Thanks Stomplad...Im actually in the USA right now - in fact sending this mid flight. Love the inflight Internet.

I actually had my PA in Australia call and she got it sorted. She said she was placed on hold for a few mins and it 'activated'.

As for feeling 'extra love' will find out in a few days when I fly LHR SIN on QF. ;)

Where?
As we speak I'm at SeaTac, heading to sfo & on from there 8 ish tonight.

Don't get your hopes up about receiving 'extra love'. I've just returned from a J class MEL-LHR return trip and noticed nothing special as a WP1 compared to my previous WP flights. The fact that there's no mention of P1 status on the Boarding Card probably doesn't help...

@v8statesman - I will be in F

@ storyteller- I was in transit in DTW. Am now in LON with no bags - lost by Delta :-( All the best with your trip.

@GDV 747 - P1 status should appear on pax manifest as PLPO. Not expecting any extra treatment - always happy with service rcvd thus far...

Flying in F you probably wont notice any difference (it's pretty good service in any event!)

The manifest says FFPO instead of FFPL, most crew dont yet know the difference (although CSMs usually do). Boarding pass says "ONEWORLD EMERALD xx_X" but that will change next month.

Hope you get your bags back!

My status credits ticketed over to 3605 (all of it except 160 points were QF so I should meet the 2700 limit easily) and with only a few days left in my QFF year. However my status is still showing platinum on the Qantas website. I am sure other status changes showed almost instantly. Perhaps P1 isn't automatic and needs some manual intervention.

I'll follow it up with Qantas tomorrow.

Where are you looking on the Qantas website? I've been P1 since November and the middle of the main Your Summary page still shows "Current Status: Platinum". Everywhere else I'm correctly listed as P1 (including the top of the Your Summary page) but that one box is stubbornly sticking at WP.

It took four days from when I passed 3600 until membership type on the my 'Your Account' page changed to "Platinum One". I got the phone call from the P1 desk 2 days after that. All good now. Just a bit slower than expected.
