Just a note to DJs IT folks who i am sure have nothing better to do at the moment but in the velocity site the feature where you add your Velocity number to an existing booking is broken and has been for quite some time - since the upgrades of a few months ago and not the recent disasters.

I mentioned it to the call centre folk when i had to ring to do it a month or two back but nothing has changed. I just figured if i posted it here Dave or someone might get someone to fix it.

Thanks 777 - we had a few other gremlins not fixed since the cutover to NewSkies - will make sure this gets on the list for attention if it is not already.

I hope the new system allows all bookings with the Velocity Number to display in the my bookings area, the old system only showed bookings that had the number at time of booking, it was a PITA when I was frequently travelling with DJ when it came to checking flights and arrangements often made months in advance.

Looking very much forward to the improvements coming through, I like some of the DJ schedules for my business travels and needless to say with the changes at QF & a status match offer I will be happy to "requalify" for DJ status over the next year as things improve.

777, we have been unable to replicate your problem. We are wondering whether it could be something specific with your account - perhaps name as shown on PNR is different from the name stored with your Velocity membership. Could you please PM me with your name, velocity number and some PNRs you had trouble with?
cheers

Hi Crazy Dave and 777

I think I have uncovered the same problem as 777. I have 4 bookings for my husband made under my Velocity number (I didn't have his on me at the time). I have just logged into my Velocity account to retrieve the booking, and add his FF number. It does offer the opportunity to add Frequent Flyer number, which when you click on it takes to you a screen which has no opportunity to add the number, but does have a continue button at the bottom. By clicking the continue button it takes you back to another screen...still nowhere to change the number, but if you scroll to the bottom of the page and click Manage Bookings, it will eventually get you back to the first screen where the add membership button actually works. (Sorry this is the most simple way I could describe this process without screen shots!).

However if I simply went to the Virgin Website, and clicked manage bookings I could add the number at the first screen.

This may account for why 777's original problem could not be replicated....the problem only arises when logged into Velocity and going in through the "My bookings" section.

The great news is that I have now add the FF number to all of my husband's flights, and they are immediately viewable in his profile. This is a huge improvement on the old system! :p

Crazy Dave let me know if you need screen shots sent to someone to see where the "broken link" is!

777 - it may be worth trying going into the Virgin Website and trying to add the number through the Manage my Bookings tab.

Koonya,

That's exactly it. I was attempting to do it from within my Velocity account and repeatedly failing because of the same process you described - a circle that took me nowhere. I didn't even look at doing it the way you described - that would have probably have solved the problem but it didn't occur to me to look there.

thanks!

777.

Not a problem 777, its funny how it is the little things that end up frustrating us!

Hopefully we have given Crazy Dave enough information to track through from their end!

Our IT guys reckon the problem is fixed. Would appreciate anyone letting me know via this thread if they have the problem again thanks.

OT slightly but the 'Claim Your Missing Points' option for DJ flights no longer gives the option to enter your flight details! All it prompts is your velocity number and name then says your claim has been entered?

Hi Crazydave, I was just trying to add my Velocity number via the Velocity website, but when I enter the PNR reference, nothing happens, it just looks like it's searching for the booking (over 10 minutes). I tried 3 different locators ot make sure it wasn't a unique problem to one booking, but no luck.

Have managed to use MMB on VB website to add and took only 2 mins.. :)

Can provide you more details if you need
Cheers
