Hi there, I am hoping for some guidance on whether it is possible to add a sector to an already existing Velocity reward booking. I have a reward flight booked on Etihad and I want to add an additional Etihad sector to that booking, There is availability on the sector I want to add, but no more availability on the flight I already have booked, so not keen to cancel and attempt to re-book. There is a big points difference between booking the additional leg separately vs booked in a single trip (circa 20,000 points x 2 people).

I have called up but am being told that this is not possible. I know other airlines can do this but unsure about Virgin. Can anyone shed some light on their experiences?

Thanks!

The ticket has been issued with a specific route on it, so to reroute with an additional sector VA will cancel it and reissue.

This can cause problems as the reward seats you relinquish will not necessarily turn back into reward seats, and any taxes fees and charges will be recalculated with new rates (in particular fuel).

This is different to a date change which can be revalidated.
