As far as I know Iberia is a part of Oneworld with Qantas. I have a Qantas frequent flyer account and I would like to add two Iberia flights on to the account. However Iberia is not listed on the drop down box on the qantas site for some reason :-| It says that I have to call them, surely it should be listed? Is there any benefit in me joining oneworld instead of just being a Qantas frequent flyer?? Thanks

Odd that they're not listed...must be some procedural issues that prevent this.

I don't believe you can 'join' oneworld as such. I'd just ring Qantas to get the flights credited.

You can email a scan/photo the boarding pass and a copy of the e-ticket to frequent_flyer [at] qantas.com.au and they'll usually take care of it pretty quickly. Calling works too but it's easier if you have your own proof of flying the sectors.

Thanks guys, I will scan the tickets and send them off. I'm assuming it is a procedural thing, very weird though that they aren't listed in the dropdown box but all the other partners are :-|

One more question. The very lucky lady who bordered the plane in front of me got bumped up to business class, she seemed very surprised. I asked at the check in desk about any upgrades and she said no. Is this a random lottery, or is it based on who has what status with what frequent flyer program? What can I do to increase my chances of receiving an upgrade? I am trying to get as many points as I can now, but I'm not sure if it is random or based on how nice you are to the check in lady. Or is it how you are dressed? eg, they might not bump up a guy dressed in a t-shirt and shorts :?: Anyone have a few answers?

There are a few partners missing - American Airlines, Jetstar Asia are examples.

I ended up emailing Qantas FF with the scanned tickets, no response yet. Does it usually take a week or so for them to credit the points?? Is it possible to add my Qantas FF number to my Iberia booking so I don't have to send the scan in. Will the Iberia check in desk accept my QF card and be able to credit the points to my Qantas account?

I've never flown IB, but I can't see why they couldn't add your QFF number into a future booking, either prior to flight day, or at check-in. It may even be possible for you to do this online (but that's only speculation on my part).

IB use the same system that QF and BA use so you should be able to add it to the booking. See I you can do it through checkmytrip.com
