On Sunday I will be flying CX J on the triangular HKG-ADL-MEL flight. What lounge do I access while waiting in ADL and what is it like? In particular are showers and towels available?

No lounge, If you're on the CX flight the whole way. ADL airport has gates that can switch between international and domestic duties. They do this by creating an international pen. AFAIK the only lounge on the international side of the pen is an SQ one. People originating in ADL can access the domestic lounges which are airside for domestic but not airside for international. Transit passenger have to wait inside the international area.

Medhead is correct. I have done that flight once before, now I clear customs in ADL and take a domestic flight to MEL, that way I get lounge access in ADL, a shower before the last little stint home.

Thirded - no lounge for the CX triangle. The international holding pen is quite an unpleasant desert to be honest.

I got QF82 recently ADL-SYD and that coffee shop near gate 18 was in operation.
