Hi All

I have previously posted regarding flying in J with an infant but have finally booked my tickets and just want some advice.

I have been given row 5 on the Syd-Lax leg but was wondering how suitable it would be with a little one. I know its right near the bar which can get noisy but i have also heard that previously row 5 was a special row that can get sectioned off. Is this still true about row 5.

Also, are they still giving Bvlgari amenities or have they changed?

One last question, when o land in Syd from Adl, i know i need to transfer through to international terminal but will i still have lounge access and is it before or after customs/immigration?

Sorry for the silly questions and thanks in advance for any responses.

Row 5 is between the J bar and the Y+ bar, but the Y+ bar is small and seems hardly used. The J bar is also not heavily used (unless I'm on the flight but that's a different story..). We've travelled in it twice and found there is no particular noise (it's not like your local bar...) and the curtains that enclose your seats make it really good for sleeping. I think it's a great choice for a family.

Yes flying business and thanks for the info re lounge

And thanks for info re row 5 and the bar

This appears to be in the wrong section: it's certainly not Qantas industrial relations.

If this is talking about VA J then i can highly recommend row 5 with the infant. We went to the US with young Captain .777 when he was about 4 months old. Row 5 was great. Just the right mix of privacy and space and, most importantly, we didn't need to worry about him disturbing the other passengers. They allocate Row 5 to families for this reason (or celebrities for other reasons).

Noise from the bar was not a big deal - may be an issue if you end up with a really rowdy group but certainly not the case for us.

Re: Lounge access, again (if you are talking about VA) you will have access to the Air NZ lounge in Sydney.

My wife and I have used Row 5 from BNE- LAX and were surprised at just how private and quiet it felt once the curtains had been drawn. We were in 5 G&H and there was a couple and young daughter in the centre. They were no bother at all, hardly heard them

I think it's an excellent choice for a young child

Not sure what happened as i don't fly or like Qantas so thanks mod for moving it :)

Yes VA J and really looking forward to the flight now. Bumpy Jnr will be 10 months and he is a pretty good boy atm so hope he stays that way! I do want to respect others in the cabin and row 5 sounds like a win win situation for all, so hopefully all goes well :)

How is Air NZ lounge?

Thanks
