Hi,

I am needing to go to WLG from June 7-9th and am looking to optimise my status credits for this trip. I have 90 SC to get to silver, but I have the double status credit bonus at the moment and I am early in the year. I am hoping to get to FF gold by the end of the year (my FF year ends Dec 31).

I have read of the LAN business flights offering good value for SC, but the LAN web site does not seem to let me get pricing for any flights from Australia except for return from Sydney - Auckland. It keeps giving me an error about pricing and it has done this every time I have looked at the site.

2 requests for advice:
(1) any suggestions on getting some accurate pricing for a LAN business based booking? I prefer to browse myself rather than call but this might not be an option.
(2) any suggestions for other routes giving me good value SC for this trip?

Regards,

Tim

I have paid $750 for the SYD-akl-SYD flight. I was using it to get to WLG also so had to transit at AKL onto a JQ flight (can't remember if cheapie or not). On the way back though you have to fly WLG-akl first then overnight at the Novotel Akl, try not to walk into the glass doors in the bathroom and try not to oversleep and miss the early flight back...

To get the double status points you have to be travelling on a QF flight code. The business special from LAN is only on their LA flight code. There is a QF code share available on this flight that would give you the double status points, but the prices are the same as normal Qantas transtasman prices.
