Hi

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the inability to advance seat select on an international flight recently. I have a booking on qf1 in September and it only allows me to specify aisle or window. I've never had the issue before. It was booked through a travel agent and includes a connecting flight in MH if that makes a difference.

Cheers

My guess is that it hasn't been ticketed as of yet.

Would be my guess as well - I have a QF1 in September and I could select the seats a day or two after booking.

Thanks,

Looking like I might have jumped the gun I should probably wait a few days and see if it changes.

Cheers

Has happened to me recently and my flight is now ticketed and completely paid. It is an A380 HKG-SYD in early January and is the 4th flight in the booking. I have 80K pre-allocated via the call centre.

We are not able to able to display the seat map. Contact us or you can select an aisle or window seat
preference. Selecting a seat preference will cause previously requested seats to
be lost.

Maybe they haven't allocated an aircraft to the flight and therefore don't have a seat map yet?

(guessing)

Generally you can allocate seating even if the flight is not ticketed - in fact often it's the only thing you can do.

(guessing)
Possibly but the customer service agent could see seat map and pre-allocated my preferred 80K on A380.

Do you have a medical clearance. I've found having one of those stuffs up my ability to select seats and I just get the aisle or window thing.

Me? I don't normally have issues pre-allocating seats for majority of my flights. Only when there has been an aircraft substitution since I have booked and where for some reason there is a glitch in the seat allocation software.
