Advice on credit card benefits

I've had credit cards for almost 20 years and paid off in full each month - and for the most part go with no annual fee ones. I now want to maximise welcome FF benefits, but not really sure how. Our family of three flies back to an Asian country once a year from Sydney and now prefers Qantas. Will continue to search the forum for advice / guidance and recently notices the idea of CC churning, which seems to be a good approach - any advice you can give is much appreciated. Thanks!

Have a good credit rating - good credit history and good income etc

Develop a strategy matching card approvals to when your significant costs come due

apply and be approved, spend what you intend and then cancel the card

move on to the next one

know whether it's worth it to you hanging onto a card for the 2nd year bonus (maybe only 30k points for $300/$400 fee) based on your need to churn quickly or less so

Depending on how many points you plan on needing maybe you would look at another family member embarking on the same strategy.

I do one or two each year. Two people could easily do four between them.

The banks all want slightly different info, or at least the way it's presented to them, so there's a bit of work involved.

I should have added - read the t&c for each very carefully, and understand them
