Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on accommodation either in the CBD or close to Circular Quay for a 1 night stopover in May (2 Adults, 1 child). I was looking at the QFF deals and two look appealing: The Menzies, Carrington St and the Sir Stamford At Circular Quay. The key points are: close to Circular Quay (walking distance if possible), 2 beds in one room (eg. double+single) and a restaurant for dinner and brekky. Does any AFF members have any advice to share on these two hotels or any others that come to mind?

All the hotels should have twin/ double bed options, in addition to the ones you mentioned there are many more options including the former Quay West/ Grand hotels now part of Accor, the Holiday Inn at the Rocks, the Intercontinental etc etc. What sort of budget do you have and dates, on any given day the best options can vary significantly.

Looking at $200-250 for the one night. Ideally I was looking for one that I can earn QFF points from. In the meantime I'll look into those suggestions, thanks :)

Not looking for "spectacular views", just somewhere to make our base for the night - but clean and comfortable.

If you want to forgo the points the HI at the rocks can be had for $190 a night using family and friends rates in May (using the 14th).

Thanks for the info, I used the weekend of 11-12th and rooms from $230. I am am PR member so I should have thought of the HI. I notice the Corporate ID and IATA numbers populate the search fields. I could not remove the IATA number. Will this give me a false pricing?

Actually the airport shuttle bus might save messing around with cabs!
