Hey guys,

Currently in LA with a thrifty car rented via netflights

my problems are

1. I am being charged a one way drop off fee from LA to SAN although in the T and C it states

"Please Note - There is no fee for one way rentals within the states of Florida and California, or for one way rentals between the states of California, Arizona and Nevada."

But those are on netflights website. I cant seem to locate thrifty's t and c regarding one way drop off....

2. I got charged airport tax as well as the state tax which as you know, should be inclusive and again stated in the t and c of netflights.

I have called thrifty and they dont care. Given Netlfights dont have an american number, i cant call them. So i have emailed them.

But just wondering if you have been in this situation before? and how did it work out for you?

Feeling like i shouldn't have booked with a third party like that as now i essentially have two different t and c and i assume the thrifty one would supersede regardless of what netflights say. Hope they dont charge me for a tank of fuel as well because that is also not on thrifty's t and c.

Thanks for any opinion.

Your contract is with Netflights whole have a contract with a wholesaler (cartrawler?) who have a contract with Thrifty.

The people at the rentals agency always try to upsell, upsell, upsell.

Sometimes you end up having to pay otherwise that won't give you the car.

I had a similar issue with MIA Thrifty a year or two ago when using Netflights - even though I had printouts of all documentation they would not give me the car until I paid extra.

I was able to resolve with Netflights via email and the car rental agency itself ended up crediting the amounts back to the CC.

Thanks m8, the LAX people refused to help me, but luckily SAN people did and were more reasonable.

cheers :)
