Aero Dili launching flights from Melbourne and Darwin to Timor Leste

We could soon have direct flights from MEL to DIL - albeit a once-per-week red-eye service.

Published at 0400GMT 23JUL24 Aero Dili in October 2024 plans to offer scheduled service to Australia, as the airline filed operational schedule to Darwin and Melbourne. The Following information are based on listings in the OAG and GDS, as booking options are not available on the airline

Interesting. Any tourism there, or is accommodation etc aimed at military visitors? I went to Iraqi-Kurdistan in 2010 when tourist travel was in its infancy, and in some parts like Sulaymaniyah the hotels and food was rather pricey because of the soldiers on rec leave had cash to burn.
