AFF Gathering #3 - Poll - Where should it be

After looking at everyones feedback on Where and When AFF Gathering #3 should be held, I've narrowed it down to a choice of (in alphabetical order) Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart or Sydney.

The general view is that October should be ok, so while not cast in concrete, work with either the weekend of the 18th or 25th of October as likely candidates (and express any preference in this poll)

As we could only cast one vote in the poll I voted for BNE but SYD is also OK for me.

Unfortunately the weekend of 18 October is a no go for me unless SYD wins the poll....

I am taking my time to decide between SYD and BNE - i wish vbulletin polls have an optional preferential voting system.

SYD - Flounging possibility, *wood hotels, cheaper flight, a lot of regulars are based there
BNE - I've never been there, longer flight makes for a good value AMEX free flight redemption, also a fair few regulars based there

HBA also holds some attraction of TAS being a state I've yet to visit, and it has that "exotic" ring.

I think SYD is better because this is the Frequent Flyer and I'd like to fly somewhere. I hear Canberra is expensive and Hobart is just too far.

My preference would be Syd Oct 25th....but as I may need to do a quick flight somewhere to retain QF SG, Bne would probably be fine as well

Canberra! Floriade, Cherry blossoms... I lived in CNB for 7 years (doing my PhD) and rather enjoyed it.

I've thrown caution to the wind and gone for BNE!

However I wouldn't mind SYD as well.

I spoke to the other half and he's mentioned that he's never been to BNE either, so we're both keen to check the reputedly up-and-coming trendy city out.

I was tempted to vote for Hobart so that it had more than a solitary vote. But in the end I went for Sydney. But any would do.

I've voted for BNE, as it's the only city that I could posibly be in around that date (Try telling a wife that is expecting on Nov 7 that I am going away for the weekend to CBA, HBA or SYD, leaving her to look after mini-LW as well).

Since my last lounge gathering with most of you was the BNE AGM, I've voted Sydney. Brisbane isn't possible for me because of family commitments and being a local tour guide for these visitors.

I hope I can get to this event, but haven't locked down our commitments for these weekends yet.

Well as I originally voted for CBR which isn't going to get up my second preference is SYD. Either date is fine and I will be definitely attend SYD. You can take that as a promise or a threat.

I've voted Sydney with a preference of the 25th October.

My reasons

1. My head office is there and I can use business with pleasure
2. The acommodation selection in SYD is great
3. Darling harbour
4. The Rocks (rocks!)
