Having returned from the 2020 gathering with fond memories, I thought I'll compile a list to remind myself of what I've missed out on previously:

If you'd asked me I could have showed you this table I prepared earlier (had it for a few years ;))

I have naturally, removed a few columns ;) but it's how I keep track of if something is good value or not. The dinner refers to the main dinner only, usually a Saturday but could happen on a Friday too I suppose.

Thanks @support ! Where is the dinner price derived from?
Added to my original comment, but most dinners are a set menu, so we have a number in mind before anyone even arrives, drinks extra. Sometimes we have an open menu, like most recently in CBR, so I just took a higher priced dish, but I expect most paid less. I guess I could add a few tilde's but as that table is usually for my eyes only, I know what it means.

Value is interesting though, the Gold Coast was high compared to the previous 5 years, but if anyone can remember the dinner, it was at RACV's Videre restaurant (21st floor, view of the Gold Coast skyline) and I think was 5 courses. Several members ended up adding the wine match. Hobart was a lovely restaurant on the waterfront I think, and there were so many of us they set the tables up in an atrium I think. Perth I think we took over a whole restaurant, or at least the section we were in, several courses and included a glass of bubbles on arrival. It doesn't always have to be like that, but when you do pay more you expect to get more as well. We try to make sure that is what happens.
