Hi,
I joined last night at the recommendation of a friend.

My wife and I travel to Europe for three months every second year, and I love driving around over there, and stopping in on Dubai on the way home.

But what has me quite amused is the acronym AFF. Many people in Melbourne's northern suburbs and hundreds of thousands of shooters around the world would recognise that as being "Ammunition Factory Footscray" - where I first started working.
Regards,
Renato

P.S. I posted "AFF" in the thread heading, but it showed up as "Aff", and I've tried editing it twice with no effect. Very strange.

Welcome to AFF Renato1.
I hope you figure some good flying tips from this forum.
It has been really good for our family for North America, Europe, UK and Australia so we all fly more often and in much better seats for a lower cost.

Welcome aboard!

Hope we see you around

Thanks very much for the welcome.

I used to not like flying much - but since I bought Sony Noise cancelling headphones, flying has been great and I get annoyed when the plane lands and interrupts my movie or show.

Though they have caused issues with my wife, since the best place to sit to use the Noise cancelling headphones is in the inner aisle seat - but my wife wants to sit on the window side, where the headphones don't work as well. guess who had to concede?
Cheers,
Renato

Welcome to AFF Renato1!

Occasionally the forum software spits the dummy and does not allow capitalisation in acronyms.

Thanks - though we mainly just fly to Venice nowadays with Emirates, where we go to our Italian home town (where mum and dad came from) drop off the 30kgs of luggage each - and use it as the base for our travels. We don't understand how we ever managed with just 20kgs each in the past.

From my most recent booking experience two and a half months ago, I've rediscovered the value of travel agents. A small local one in Dandenong booked our plane trip to Venice for a $1000 less than what I paid two years ago, and got me better hotel deals in Budapest than what I could find for those same hotels on Bookings.com.

Cheers,
Renato

Well, it is obviously very strict about the rules!

Thanks. I know that there are plenty of good tips around that I don't know about - because I've even picked some up at the Astronomy site I visit.

Cheers,
Renato
