Hi,

Can you please advise on the process within which we can book Fifth Freedom Flights on Business Class for 2 adults.

An example might then be:
Book a flight Brisbane to Auckland on China Airlines, then on either Qantas or Air New Zealand to New York JFK, could be in say August 2025.

Thinking is one way and cruising back, but perhaps booking Business Class for the return but using the Fifth Freedom Flight way of beginning the return perhaps flight from Hawaii or wherever.

I did look up Qantas from Auckland (Business) but noted that the flight cost was obviously not the Fifth Freedom Flight cost but Qantas' usual expensive price ($6000 plus each).

Have flown to Europe a number of times Business Class and paid the huge price asked, we are looking at a better way of flying Business Class affordably.

Your advise will be very appreciated.

Kind regards

Sylvia and Steven

Fifth freedom flights are not always cheaper, they can be but don't have to be. August being peak season for USA probably won't be a bargain hunters paradise and it's not uncommon for one way fares to be more expensive than 50% of a return fare.

Maybe give Google flights are whirl, that comes to with varied options.

You seem to have a lack of understanding what a 5th freedom flight is. Fifth freedom flights are not just "cheap" flights
QF SYD-AKL-JFK is a 5th freedom flight for AKL-JFK. Air NZ AKL-JFK is not (as Air NZ is a New Zealand airline
The fifth freedom allows an airline to carry revenue traffic between foreign countries as a part of services connecting the airline's own country.<a href="Freedoms of the air - Wikipedia"> It is the right to carry passengers from one's own country to a second country, and from that country onward to a third country (and so on). An example of a fifth freedom traffic right is an Emirates flight in 2004 from Dubai to Brisbane, Australia and onward to Auckland, New Zealand, where tickets can be sold on any sector.
