Is there an agenda for FF AGM in BNE on 24/Feb?

What usually happens at the AGM? Quite a new member here...

It will cost me to $735 to fly PER to BNE for the day and back.

And has to be the redye flight over!

Me thunks, heaps o' drinking....? But as a new member I too would be interested, if only to dispel my paranoia that NM is Geoff Dixon AND thank serfty for so many great tips!
I note (for me) $190 to go up ‘n’ back with DJ, vs $219.98 on QF….

Oh no, my secret is out ...

Actually, its usually a pretty quiet affair and not really a booze up. I know I won't be boozing as I am driving - the downside of being local, but at least it only costs me for parking.

Generally its a great opportunity to put faces and names to AFF/FT handles and to share the latest tips about maximising the value of FF programs.

I'll probably take my PC so we can update the thread throughout the afternoon - if we get around to it  .

Oh yes, and we usually bag all those who had lame excuses for not attending :p .

Methinks it's gunna be a bit weird; an HP free meeting ...

Well I guess that is why you do not do it at SYD, as flying BNE-SYD return on QF J would be cheaper than Sydney Airport's parking!!!!

 Bugger I have already given my apologies to QF WP  but I am getting married next month so I am bagged enough, well actually we are getting the results of the pre-martial questionaire that day:o

Not a chance of simongr attendance as I am off shortly on a big trip -one one day though...

Chucksta, I believe you're referring to this AGM. Quite a number of the attendees are members of both Flyertalk and AFF.

I know from first hand experience that there is an Agenda. The meeting chairman (QF WP) declared the meeting open at 3pm (when he arrived), ensuring nobody is without a cold cleansing ale (or soft drink, depending on their persuasion).

If there are any pressing issues then they are raised first and debated over said HP's.

Then the meeting goes to General Business, where they sit around swapping flying stories until the meeting is declared closed. I'm reliably informed this was around 8.15pm last night.

Last night there were a couple of disparaging remarks from shillard about another member, IIRC it was about the inability of one member's inability to attend the meeting. The comments were not reported in the minutes due to their graphic nature.

I am sorry, but I will have to reject those meeting minutes. The only HPs consumed were HP Lites, while the other popular ale was Heineken.

I departed at 6pm (just shy of ticking over 3 hours in the car park). At that time there were still about 7 members present, with one more to join later.

I suspect more than one member may have fallen prey to ribbing for lack of attendance. But the others did lack the "graphic nature" trademark of shillard  .
