Hi booked a flight from OOL to KUL wit Air Asia with all fees shown in A$ but on checking credit card have been charged in MYR with additional conversion fee so payment on by invoice of A$1788 has cost me A$1841. Could see no mention of this at any time during booking. Any thoughts?

Whilst I have no idea specifically I would, if I was you, read all the T&C again and if there is no answer there I would then ask the airline for an explanation.

Some airlines will let you select currency, so you can see what it is (approximately) in your currency ; but generally they still charge in their local currency. I'd be going back to the site and having a look to see if anything like that is mentioned.

Being charged in MYR should have resulted in a gain not a loss given the recent events with the dollar, when did it happen and is there something else in play (taxes or similar)?

The uplift in price is almost bang on 3%, suggesting it is a bank fee for the transaction.

I think you got it, it adds up for those that are not aware of the currency conversion fee!

My OOL-KUL booking with D7 was billed in AUD...sounds like something went wrong. I wouldn't put too much hope in getting it fixed though unfortunately :(
