Probably some one has seen and posted this, but just saw on a business show that they were interviewing Tony Fernandes, CEO of Air Asia and he said they were planning to start an Air Asia Japan so looks like Jet* won't have it all to itself, plus whatever the local Japanese carriers decide to do...

Jetstar Japan is a joint venture with JAL. And I think ANA already have an LCC. I think it's called Peach, could be wrong though. Going by Tony Fernandes tweets he seem to honk AirAsia Japan will be a big profit turner.
