Considering trying either Air Asia Premium or Jetstar StarClass to get to China late March.

How do they stack up against each other?

Pros and cons of each product?

Do either have a premium offering to China? Or are you intending to go to SIN/KUL on the way?

Well Qantas FF points and status would be one obvious positive of JQ/3K. But are you sure 3K have *class into Hangzhou? That could be a useful route for me. I can only see A320's in the booking engine however.

Same here - I could only find A320's into China taking the Jetstar path.

Jetstar only starts flying on 22 March with an A320 aircraft so no Starclass.

Equally Air Asia doesn't offer XL seats, only Air Asia X (D7).
D7 flies to both Tianjin and Hangzhou --- but there is a fare distance between them. Where in China do you want to go?

Damn your right - SIN-HGH cattle class only - looks like Air Asia then.

Well I am actually heading to Tianjin for a trade show - but we have manufacturers in Suzhou and Nanjing also - so into Tianjin, Beijing, Nanjing, Pudong - no matter which.

Was in Beijing last week but am running low on KF points so I don't want to go SQ cattle class again as I did last week - almost killed me - I usually only get 1 to 2 weeks notice so forward planning not usually an option - however the March trade show does allow this.

LCCs typically offer long connections to China. I would suggest Hainan Airlines as a good alternative if traveling from Syd they operate direct to shenzhen then domestically connect to many ports in china. Pricing is competitive and they were just awarded 5 star skytrax rating
